Pete has written a delightful book on us, on life at FA, and on his experience as an exchange student living with Jean Claude Aubourg between our junior and senior years. Can you figure out who all of the characters are (some of the names have been changed)? Can you find all the pearls of wisdom tucked away from the vantage point of half a century later? Pete has given many of us a copy, but in case you don't have one -- and even if you do -- here it is as a Word document. Enjoy!
To download the book it its entirety (minus the pictures), click here (851 KB).
If you are using a dial-up Internet connection, you might want to download it in 6 smaller chunks (about 160 KB each, still minus the pictures):

Jean Claude, who came to reunion, offers some impressions of America in Red & Black (6/3/1955): lo-fi imagehi-fi (356 KB). See also Jean Claude's souvenir album on the Reunion Report page.
Bruce's Books and Poems
Bruce's wife Walda has kindly provided a copy of one published book, two unpublished books, and a slim volume of unpublished poems. Much of this material is wonderfully interesting, full of Bruce's special brand of humor, and would please even our exacting English teachers.
Art has scanned the pages and done optical character recognition (OCR) to turn the scans into searchable text. George, though, is doing the really hard work of fixing all the many mistakes made by the OCR software. The links below are to PDF downloads (not too large, and not in the public domain).
For pictures of Bruce, his familiy, and Tina, see this Web photo album contributed by Walda and Karin.
- Tina: A Family Voyage -- South Africa to Florida, Crown Publishing Group, 1977. Paperback edition David McKay Company, Inc., New York, 1979.
- Tina Goes Home, unpublished.
- An Autobiography of a Cat On a Journey From Cape Town, South Africa, To Titusville Florida, On a 45ft Ketch, unpublished.
- Poems by Bruce Whiteley: 1960-1984, unpublished.
Do you have any memorabilia from your years at FA? C'mon, you know where that old stash with the old scrapbooks is ... time to look it over. Please send originals or scans to Art at ageoffri@anderson.ucla.edu . He will put them online for others to enjoy, returning the originals by UPS or in person at the reunion. Or just bring your items to reunion, and Art will scan them there.
