Organizers' Workspace for Our 50th Reunion

Alex Edwards-Bourdrez (FA's Assistant Development Director, Alumni Relations) -- main FA coordinator, mass mailings (postal or email), logo ware, coordinate with FA archivist Mary Ann Reardon, FA webmaster Lauren Banks, FA Director of Development Carl Pozzi, and others at FA

Peg Foster -- telephoner in chief (acquire email and other contact info, inform people about reunion and send them to http://fa1955.jot.com); additional role(s) at her discretion

John Galbraith -- co-MC Friday lunch; advice; additional role(s) at his discretion

Art Geoffrion -- admin for this website; contact information ferret

Joan Konvalinka -- overall reunion coordinator, advice, close-in support, house is venue for Friday night

Mary Ann Reardon (FA's archivist) -- 1950s photos and other memorabilia, school history, scanning (hoping she can supervise student scanner paid with our funding)

Event Planning

Friday Lunch (perhaps noon-2:30, our class alone)

  • Power Point presentation: FA's evolution during last 50 years [Alex]
  • Logo ware handouts [TBD] -- did not materialize
  • 1950s photo montage [Mary Ann]
  • 1950s music; Art purchased some suitable CD's possibly to rip [TBD] -- played, but sound system inadequate
  • Personal exhibits by classmates (paintings, drawings, sculptures, writings, music, other things made) [TBD] -- did not materialize
  • Master of Ceremonies program [George and John with input from all]
    • Moment of silence for 5 deceased class members -- did not do this
    • Poetry [George; other(s)?] -- George read 2 poems
    • Recognition for Doris (SECRET from her) [Joan] -- got bulbs, but Doris did not come
    • Classmates share stories from FA days, ... [need to solicit] -- did not materialize
    • Orchestrate table-hopping for desert (there is a suggested protocol for this) -- did not do this

Friday Afternoon (between lunch and reception)

  • Private class tour [Alex will arrange] -- Alex gave it
  • Private class visit to archivist presentation of 1950s materials [Alex, Mary Ann] -- came off well

Friday Alumni Reception (6-8pm)

  • Attendance list by class to be posted, decade-coded name tags [Alex] -- did not happen
  • Gather at Joan's house after 7pm or so for pizza (or whatever) and conversation [Joan] -- went to Owen's

Saturday Fall Fair (10am-4pm)

  • Set rendezvous times to gather at the Alumni Tent. [TBD] -- did not do this
  • Organize another tour, possibly in conjunction with other 1950s classes? [TBD, Alex] -- relied on std tours

Saturday Dinner Dance

  • Have our own tables, but do we want special wine? [TBD; Herb?] -- had our tables, standard wines

Sunday

  • All-alumni reception after worship [Alex] -- did not happer, school bake sale instead (worship sparsely attended by non-55ers)
  • Farewell brunch on campus (Caretaker's House or Frost Hall Conference Room) [TBD, Alex] -- Joan put this on

Classmate Contact Information URGENT!

  • Acquire accurate current info, especially email [Art, Peg, John, Emilie, others?] -- done mainly by me
  • Enter data into Art's Excel spreadsheet [Art].
    This spreadsheet is attached to this page. To see what Art has changed since the version given to him by FA at the outset, you may have to select Tools/Track Changes/Highlight Changes, make sure that the "Track changes while editing" and "Highlight changes on screen" boxes are checked, and also check the "When" box with "All" as its content. Not the very latest (Classmates has latest contact info).
